Scholarships for Nigerian Students to Study Abroad

There appears to be an increasing interest among Nigerian students in studying in other countries. Nearly 100,000 Nigerian students will study abroad in 2022, despite the pandemic.

Their most popular locations are the United States, Malaysia, Canada, and the United Kingdom, but many are also thinking about other places to go to.

If you’re a Nigerian student who would like to pursue an undergraduate or graduate degree outside of Nigeria, you should know about the scholarships available to help make that goal a reality.

1. Global Korea Summer Scholarship

The Global Korea Summer Scholarship is designed to give students from Nigeria the opportunity to study abroad in Korea and gain a deeper understanding of the Korean language and culture. For five weeks, participants in this program will work on becoming effective leaders who can aid in the betterment of society on a worldwide scale.

Scholars will be selected by participating colleges and universities that are part of the National Institute of International Education. This full scholarship will pay for your round-trip airfare, lodging, and medical coverage for the duration of the program. Graduate admissions decisions are made public in June of the year of intended study in Korea.

2. Entrance Scholarship for African Students

The scholarship for African students studying in English is one way the University of Ottawa in Canada hopes to increase its diverse student body. Students enrolled full-time in the university’s undergraduate programs provided in English or with the French Immersion option in chosen programs within the Faculty of Social Sciences and Faculty of Science will be automatically considered for this award; no further application is required. The annual value of the renewable award is $12,500 CAD.

The University of Oxford in the United Kingdom is sometimes cited as the earliest institution of higher education dedicated to the study of English. The Reach Oxford Scholarship is available to students from Nigeria and provides funding for tuition, a stipend to help with living expenses, and a round-trip plane ticket. Scholarship recipients will be chosen in March 2022 if they applied by the February 9, 2022 deadline for the class of 2022.

Annually, there are just a few awards offered. This is a fantastic chance to enroll in a top university in the United Kingdom.

There are fourteen different areas of study available to undergraduates, including engineering, geology, and law. Education at the master’s and doctoral levels is offered in any chosen field.
