It is not more than 6 months since the Tecno Spark 3 was released, we now also have the Tecno Spark 4 in the hands of everyone. This product was released in September, and ever since its release, it has been recording good sales in Nigeria, India, and many other African countries.
The Tecno Spark 4 is definitely more impressive than the Tecno Spark 3, although we have a good number of people who complain about the teardrop design of the phone. The product comes with an epic 6.52-inch display, and we really feel you should take some time to read what it has got to offer.
Design and Display
Aside from the teardrop design complaints we have from some people, you are very unlikely to hear a complaint about the design of this product. The smartphone is really beautiful, and we are pretty confident you would love it. The Tecno Spark 4 comes in two colours which are vacation blue, and royal purple.
The device comes with a pretty large display that measures 6.52 inches. A display as large as this is a pretty cool thing, and the resolution of the product is far from disappointing. The resolution of the display is claimed to be 720 x 1,560, a thing we find to be true. However, if you would prefer to know the pixel density of the IPS LCD of this smartphone, its IPS LCD has a pixel density of 264 pixels per inch.
The Tecno Spark 4 performed well in all the performance tests we subjected it to. This device comes with a MediaTek quad-core chipset having cores that could be clocked at 2.00 GHz. This MediaTek chipset in question, is the MediaTek Helio A22, an item that also happens to be pretty power-efficient, However, if Tecno had equipped this product with an octa-core chipset, we would have had a more efficient item powering the phone.
The MediaTek Helio A22 would handle the generic computing tasks of your phone, while its graphics processing tasks would be delegated to the PowerVR GE8300. The PowerVR GE8300 is a product we have seen in a good number of cool 2019 mid-range smartphones, so you have nothing to worry about when it comes to the PowerVR GE8300.
While the Tecno Spark 3 works with 2 GB of RAM as its main storage, the Tecno Spark 4 works with a 3 GB of RAM as its main storage. With a more larger main memory, you are definitely guaranteed to feel some performance boost, compared to the Tecno Spark 3.
OS and Storage
Tecno devices hardly ever run stock Android operating systems. Rather, the smartphones from this company run a custom build of Android. So you should not expect the Tecno Spark 4 to come with a stock Android operating system. However, the OS this device runs is based on the Android 9.0 Pie operating system, the standard for 2019 mid-range Android phones. Would you like to upgrade the OS to Android 10? Well, we doubt that would be possible unless you are a techie.
The storage device featured by the Tecno Spark 4, has a capacity of about 32 GB. With 32 GB of storage, we can not consider the manufacturer to have disappointed in this aspect. Rather than considering the company to have disappointed in this aspect, we would rather consider them to have done a pretty good job here. And for people who would need storage space expansion, this can be achieved with the help of a micro SD card. Micro SD card not more than 128 GB in capacity, can be used with the Tecno Spark 4.
The Tecno Spark 4 has got a total of three cameras. We have two of these three cameras on the rear side of the device, while the third one is the selfie camera. The selfie camera of this product is an 8 MP camera which is highly-enhanced. We find the phone to be a great one for selfie lovers, and we doubt you would not also find that to be true. The phone has got support for High Dynamic Range mode (HDR) and Phase Detection autofocus. It is also important to state that the front camera of the Tecno Spark 4 can be used to unlock the phone, for those who desire it.
The rear side of the Tecno Spark 4 comes with a 13 MP camera and a 2 MP camera. The 13 MP camera is, of course, the main camera, with the other camera supports it. We also find the pictures from this camera to be impressive, so this would never be a reason to ignore the product.
The Tecno Spark 4 is a 4G smart device. The product has support for the 4G networks of all major mobile network operators in the country. By major mobile network operators, we are talking about MTN, Glo, 9mobile, and Airtel. While some devices only allow one SIM card to work with 4G network, the two SIM cards inserted into this phone can both work with 4G networks. Aside from having support for 4G networks, the product also has support for the older 2G and 3G networks.
It is now a standard thing for a smartphone to have Wi-Fi support, and we would be stunned if this product does not come with support for this technology. In addition to having Wi-Fi support, the product can also be used as a mobile hotspot. In other words, you can easily share your phone’s internet connection with your laptop and other Wi-Fi devices at home.
The USB port that comes with the Tecno Spark 4, is a micro USB 2.0 port. Aside from being able to be used as a charging port, this port can also be used as a USB OTG port. In other words, to transfer items from your phone to a flash drive, you do not have to plug your phone and the flash into a computer — you can now do the transfer directly.
