April 2019 saw the release of a lot of cool phones, and the Tecno Spark 3 happens to be one of them. This smart device is a mid-range Android phone we believe a lot of people would be able to afford. The design of the product is far from disappointing, and we are really impressed with its performance. Also, when it comes to display, the Tecno Spark 3 would not disappoint, as it comes with a pretty cool 6.20-inch in-plane switching (IPS) liquid crystal display.
Design and Display
The design of the Tecno Spark 3 is very impressive, and we doubt you would not also find this to be true. We have seen the phone in the hands of a lot of people, and they all seem to be proud of the product. The body of this phone is sleek, while being available four different colours. The Tecno Spark 3 is a pretty big device, measuring 155.3 x 75.8 x 8.2 mm. And for those who prefer the dimension in inches, the phone measures 6.11 x 2.98 x 0.32 inches.
As stated above, the Tecno Spark 3 comes with a cool 6.20-inch in-plane liquid crystal display. Most phones in its category come with displays of at least 6.00 inches, so this device scores pretty well in this aspect. Furthermore, the display of the Spark 3 is claimed to have a resolution of 720 x 1,550 pixels.
In other words, we can also consider the smart device to have a resolution of about 268 pixels per inch. And as regards the screen-to-body ratio of the phone, we calculated it to be about 82.2 percent. You can always get a build of this product in any of the following colours: midnight black, champagne gold, aqua blue, and Bordeaux red.
Tecno Spark 3 does not disappoint when it comes to computing power. The phone cores are capable of being clocked at up to 2.00 GHz. Being a little elaborate, the chipset that powers the Spark 3 is the Mediatek MT6761 Helio A22. With the Mediatek MT6761 Helio A22 being a quad-core processor, this also means the phone does not come with 1.30 GHz or 1.50 GHz cores. In other words, power efficiency would not be as high as it could.
While the Mediatek MT6761 Helio A22 handles the generic computing tasks of the Tecno Spark 3, the PowerVR GE8320 handles its graphics processing. With this GPU backing up the CPU, playing games on this device would be great fun. We have the PowerVR GE8320 is so many other phones, so performance is the least you have to worry about.
As a mid-range smartphone, the Tecno Spark 3 packs 2 GB of RAM. Most users would find this adequate, but if you do not, you might have to consider some other products.
OS and Storage
Spark 3 is an Android phone, and the product runs the Android 9.0 Pie operating system. However, the OS this smartphone runs is not the stock Android 9.0 Pie. Rather than running the stock Android 9.0 Pie, the device runs the HiOS 5.0, a customer build of the OS. The HiOS is not bad, and if you do not mind running a custom Android, you can go for the device.
The Tecno Spark 3 is packed with 16 GB of storage. Most smart phone users would have no problem using up this storage in no time, and when the storage has been used up, expansion can be done with a micro SD card. With the additional storage your SD card provides, you should be able to have enough storage to store all your items.
There are two cameras featured by the Tecno Spark 3, not three or four. As expected, we have one in the front and the other on the rear side of the smart device. The front camera of this smart phone is an 8 MP camera. However, this peripheral is not a plain 8 MP camera, it is rather an highly-enhanced 8 megapixels camera. Among things supporting by this camera, is a bright LED flash nicely positioned in the front of the device.
The rear side of the Tecno Spark 3 comes with a 13 MP camera. This camera is also highly-enhanced, and it has the support of things like LED flashes. This peripheral could be used to take 1,080p videos having up to 30 frames per second. Most owners of this smart device claim to love the camera, so would you.
Tecno Spark 3 is a product targeted at people in places like Africa and India. And these are countries where people prefer dual SIM devices to single SIM devices. In other words, the phone is a dual SIM phone. It is however important stating that the device uses nano SIM cards, and not micro-SIM cards.
While you would often use mobile network for internet access, there are times when using Wi-Fi would be preferred, so Spark 3 comes with support for this technology. The product is also an item you can use as a mobile hotspot. Almost every phone comes with support for the Bluetooth technology, so does this. The device has support for the Bluetooth 5.0, when many other products feature the version 4.2 of the technology. In other words, Spark 3 scores excellently when it comes to its Bluetooth support.
Pictures of the Tecno Spark 3 show the phone to has a fingerprint scanner, and we find this to be pretty true. The fingerprint scanner featured by this product works pretty well, and it does not take a lot of time to scan fingerprints. Aside from the fingerprint scanner, some other sensors we know the phone has, include accelerometer and proximity.
Among things we can not leave out of an article like this, is the battery of the phone. Spark 3 is powered by a 3,500 mAh battery. However, this battery is not a Li-Po battery, it is rather a Li-Ion battery. It is also worthwhile stating that the device is equipped with a rapid-charge technology, enabling the phone to be fully charged under 2 hours.
