When Tecno released the Tecno Spark 3, the company also released a pro version of the smart device. The Tecno Spark 3 Pro saw improvement majorly in the aspect of the camera. The device, the Tecno Spark 3 Pro, would be ideal for people who are okay with the standard Tecno Spark 3, but have some extra cash to spare. In the aspect of design, there is hardly any difference between two phones. This article would be taking a look at the Spark 3 Pro, so why not take some time to consider what this product has got to offer.
Design and Display
The Tecno Spark 3 Pro is a device coming in a very nice design. It is just as beautiful as its standard version, and we would be giving the device a 4-star in the aspect of design. The smart phone comes in three different colours, namely: midnight black, champagne gold, and nebula black. As regards the dimension of this product, we find it to measure 6.07 x 2.97 x 0.31 inches. In mm, this dimension of 6.07 x 2.97 x 0.31 inches equals 154.3 x 75.5 x 7.9 mm.
The display of the Tecno Spark 3 Pro is a thing we are happy with. It is just the same display featured by its standard version, a 6.20-inch in-plane switching (IPS) liquid crystal display (LCD). Like most displays, it has support for over 16 million colours. The 6.20-inch featured by the Spark 3 Pro also comes with a resolution of 720 x 1,500 pixels. In other words, the pixel density of the smart device is about 268 pixels per inch. And as regards the screen-to-body ratio, this product comes with a screen-to-body ratio of about 83 percent.
The Tecno Spark 3 Pro packs the same kind of power as its the standard Tecno Spark 3. This smart phone comes with a MediaTek chipset. Being elaborate, the MediaTek chipset powering this phone, is the MediaTek MT6761 Helio A22 chipset. We have seen this item featured by a good number of other cool smart phones, and we can confidently state this chipset is a cool one. The MediaTek MT6761 Helio A22 features four cores which can be clocked at 2.00 GHz. With this kind of chipset, you are guaranteed not to experience any lag. Also, playing games on the phone should be no problem.
The MediaTek MT6761 Helio A22 does most of the processing work of the Spark 3 Pro, but it delegates its graphics processing tasks to the PowerVR GE8320. The PowerVR GE8320 is also a pretty good product, and it is an item we have seen in a good number of cool mid-range devices. In other words, the GPU Is far from being a component that would disappoint.
Tecno is not known to be a company that is generous in the aspect of RAM. In other words, the manufacturer only equipped the phone with a RAM they feel would be enough, nothing more. The RAM featured by the PowerVR GE8320 is a 2 GB RAM.
OS and Storage
The MediaTek MT6761 Helio A22 is a chipset that is powered by the Android 9.0 Pie operating system. However you should not expect the stock Android 9.0 operating system, as this is not what the phone runs. The phone rather runs a Tecno version of the Android 9.0 standard edition. Putting in a more appropriate term, the Tecno Spark 3 Pro runs the HiOS 5.0 OS, an operating system based on the Android 9.0 Pie.
When it comes to the aspect of storage, we find the product to be far from disappointing. Most products in its category come with 32 GB of storage. We even have a good number of them coming with storage space of 16 GB. However, as for the Tecno Spark 3 Pro, this device comes with a 32 GB storage device. If you need more storage space, you can always have more with the help of a micro SD card. But just like every other Android phone, there is restriction on the kind of micro SD card supported by the smartphone. Using a micro SD card that has too much of storage space would not work with the Spark 3 pro.
As stated above, the Tecno Spark 3 and the Tecno Spark 3 Pro majorly differ in the aspect of camera. Both devices come with an 8 MP camera in the front, but the camera on their rear sides are completely different. It is also worthwhile stating that the 8 MP selfie camera of the Spark 3 Pro is just as enhanced as that of its standard version. The rear side of the Tecno Spark 3 Pro comes with two cameras, a 2 MP camera and a 13 MP camera. The 13 MP camera is the main one, while the 2 MP camera serves as an assistant for the 13 MP camera. We also have a bright LED flash on the rear side of the phone.
There would be no excuse for a 2019 mid-range smartphone not to feature 4G support, so 4G support is a thing you should expect from the Tecno Spark 3 Pro. And as you would expect, this device also has support for 2G and 3G networks. Super-fast internet can also be enjoyed with the help of the Wi-Fi support of the smart device.
We have a fingerprint scanner on the rear side of the phone. This peripheral is pretty fast at scanning fingerprints, so unlocking your phone every now and then would be no problem. Aside from the fingerprint scanner the Spark 3 Pro also comes with the following sensors: accelerometer, and proximity sensor.
Just like the standard Tecno Spark 3, we have a 3,500 mAh battery powering the Spark 3 Pro. Since we do not have much changes in the hardware of the two phones, the battery performance of the Spark 3 Pro is just as good as that of the former. And charging the 3,500 mAh battery, from zero to hundred, can take as less as 2 hours.
