Tecno, Infinix, and iTel are all companies owned by a particular mother company. However, while Tecno and Infinix produce majorly mid-range and high-end smart devices, iTel chooses to produce more affordable products. iTel has released a lot of pretty cool devices this year, with the iTel S15 being on of them. The product was released in August of 2019, and we have so many people asking about the phone. If you are one of those who have been wondering what the product has got to offer, why not take the next few minutes reading this article.
Design and Display
Anyone who knows iTel pretty well understands the fact that the company does not really excel at design. So if design matters a lot to you, a phone like the iTel S15 is probably not the kind of product you want. But this does not mean the phone is trash, considering how much it sells for. The design of the product can only be considered to be fair, and it is available in three colours which are: aqua blue, champagne gold, and deep grey. However, when looking at the phone from some serious distance, it would be quite difficult to tell that the design of the product is not so impressive.
While the iTel S15 is a low-end Android smartphone, the manufacturer of the item decided to give it the display of a mid-range/high-end device. The display that comes with this phone, measures about 6.10 inches. Not only does the device comes with a large display, it also comes with a good resolution. The resolution of the display is claimed to be 720 x 1,520 pixels, leaving it with a pixel density of about 282 pixels per inch. It is also worthwhile stating that this display has got the protection of scratch-resistant glass.
Computing power is one of the major things that get to decide whether a phone is a low-end, middle-range, or high-end smart device. When we looked at the computing power of this item, we found it to be a low-end device. The iTel S15 is powered by the UniSoC Spreadtrum SC7731E, with the UniSoC Spreadtrum SC7731E being a quad-core chipset. The chipset is furthermore a 32 nm process chipset, and it cores can be clocked at 1.30 GHz. Nothing stops you from playing games on the phone, but the experience would not be as epic as those of middle-range and high-end devices.
The iTel S15 has the UniSoC Spreadtrum SC7731E as the handler of its general computing task, while the ARM Mali T820 MP1 is the component that handles its graphics processing task. The ARM Mali T820 MP1 is pretty good at what it does, so you have little or nothing to worry about.
As regards RAM, the iTel S15 has nothing special to offer. The main memory of this product is just 1 GB. In other words, the device may not be ideal for someone who would often use their device for heavy duty task. However, if you just need a product for chatting and some other little things, you can consider this product.
OS and Storage
We already stated that the S15 is powered by the UniSoC Spreadtrum SC7731E, and it works with 1 GB of RAM. Knowing this, it would not be ideal for the phone to run the standard edition of any of the latest Android OS. Otherwise, users of the product would experience a lot of lag. Rather than running a standard Android, the smartphone has the Go edition of the Android 9.0 Pie. It is, however, unclear if the OS this product runs, is the stock Android 9.0 Go.
The internal storage that comes with the iTel S15 is a 16 GB device. If you would not be storing a lot of media items on the device, this amount of storage space should be enough for all your apps. However, if you would love to have a lot of media items on the device, nothing stops you. However, you may have to get a micro SD card, to avoid running out of storage quickly. The S15 works with micro SD cards not having capacities higher than 32 GB.
We are quite impressed with what Itel decided to do, in the aspect of the camera. This smart device comes with three cameras, with one in the front, and the other two on the rear side. The front side of this smartphone has a 16 MP camera which is pretty highly-enhanced. It can be used to take 720p videos.
The main camera on the rear side of the iTel S15 is an 8 MP camera. This camera has the support of a 0.8 MP camera. Just like the selfie camera, the main rear camera is an highly-enhanced item. Some features of this main rear camera include autofocus, continuous shooting, digital zoom, geo-tagging, panorama, HDR, touch focus, face detection, and white balance settings.
4G is now becoming a standard, but we are quite disappointed to announce that the iTel S15 is not a 4G device. The phone only has support for 2G and 3G networks. However, this does not mean you can not enjoy super-fast internet, as the product has support for the Wi-Fi technology. And just like most Android devices, the phone can also be used as a mobile hotspot.
Talking about the battery that powers the iTel S15, this product comes with a 3,000 mAh battery. This kind of battery is pretty good for a product like this. As stated by the company, when playing music with the device, the battery can power the phone for up to 25 hours.
The phone does not fail to come with a fingerprint scanner, even though it may not have 4G support. The fingerprint sensor of this device lies on its rear side. Aside the fingerprint sensor, sensors coming with the iTel S15, include: accelerometer, proximity, and compass. But what about light sensor? Well, the company refused to equipped the phone with this item.
