Ever since the Infinix S4 was released in April of 2019, it has been selling at a pretty high rate, and we do not see that slowing down anytime soon. The Infinix S4 is a pretty awesome phone. It comes in a pretty nice design, and it packs an impressive computing power. Among things worthwhile of mentioning about this phone, is its 6.20-inch IPS display. The device is an item worthwhile of being discussed, and we would be doing just that in this article.
Design and Display
The design of the Infinix S4 is clearly one of the contributors to the success of the phone. This device has a really cool design. It has a sleek body and it comes in three colours, namely: space gray, nebula blue, and twilight purple. For people who prefer their phone being black, the device is not available in this colour. You can however consider the nebula blue of this smartphone. And in case you have been wondering, the phone is a dual SIM smart device.
The Infinix S4 measures 6.14 x 2.95 x 0.31 inches. As you can see from the dimension, the phone has got some thickness. And for people who prefer its dimension in mm, the device measures 156 x 75 x 7.9 mm. When we measured a build of the device, we recorded its mass to be 154 grams. In other words, the Infinix S4 has a mass of about 5.43 oz.
The Infinix S4 comes with a display of 6.20 inches, giving the device a screen-to-body ratio of about 82 percent. The display furthermore has a resolution of about 720 x 1,520 pixels. We can also say that the Infinix S4 has an aspect ratio of about 271 pixels per inch. And just like most displays, the display featured by the Infinix S4 has support for over 16 million colours.
The Infinix S4 does not disappoint in terms of computing power. Like most cool 2019 smart devices, it comes with an octa-core chipset. Four of the cores in this chipset operate at 1.50 GHz, while the other four are capable of operating at 2.00 GHz. Being more elaborate, the chipset powering this cool Infinix smart device, is the Mediatek MT6762 Helio P22. With such a chipset, playing heavy games on your device would be a problem.
The Mediatek MT6762 Helio P22 chipset featured by the Infinix S4, is supported by the PowerVR GE8320 graphics processing unit. The PowerVR GE8320 is an item we have spotted in a good number of other cool smart phones, so you have nothing to worry about, as regards the performance of this GPU. We also find the GPU to be an energy-efficient graphics processing unit.
While the Mediatek MT6762 Helio P22 has its graphics processor to be the PowerVR GE8320, it has a 3 GB RAM as its main memory. However, for people who find a 3 GB RAM to be inadequate, you can always get a build of the device having a main memory of 6 GB.
OS and Storage
The Infinix S4 is an Android-powered smartphone. This smart device runs the Android 9.0 operating system. It is however important to note that the Android powering this device is not the stock Android 9.0. The OS powering the device is rather a custom Android operating system. And we do not think you should find this a surprise, as Infinix smartphones are generally known to not run stock Androids.
Builds of the Infinix S4 would not necessarily come with storage devices of the same capacity. While you would have builds featuring 32 GB of storage, you would also have builds featuring 64 GB of storage. However, regardless of how much storage you have on your build of the Infinix S4, you can always use as much as a 128 GB micro SD card to give yourself more storage space.
It is pretty important to note that all the internal storage of your device would not be usable. The reason for this, is that the Android 9.0 OS and some pre-installed applications use up some of the storage space. Although, there are some of the pre-installed apps you can uninstall.
Just like most smart phones we have in the market, the Infinix S4 has at least three cameras. In the front of the smart phone, we have a very cool 32 megapixels camera. Selfie lovers are definitely going to love this. And the picture quality of the product are far from disappointing. It is also worthwhile stating that this 32 megapixels camera is a highly-enhanced camera.
The rear side of the Infinix S4 comes with three cameras. We have one 13 megapixels camera, one 8 megapixels camera, and a 2 megapixels camera. And with these three cameras we have on the rear side of the smart phone, you can take videos of 1,080p. The videos can have as much as 30 frames per second. It is also worthwhile stating that the device has support for HDR and panorama.
It would be pretty bad for a device like the Infinix S4 to not feature a fingerprint sensor. In other words, the Infinix S4 comes with a fingerprint sensor, and this fingerprint scanner lies on the rear side of the phone. The product has support for the Bluetooth technology. But rather than coming with Bluetooth 4.2 or lower, the device comes with Bluetooth 5.0. Other sensors the smartphone has, include: accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass.
The Infinix S4 features a micro USB 2.0 port. And interestingly, this USB port is also a USB on-the-go port. In other words, you can attach a flash storage to the smart phone. Apart from having support for the Wi-Fi technology, you can also use the Infinix S4 as a mobile hotspot. No so many people demand support for radio, but this product happens to have support for radio.
Writing an article like this without discussing battery, would be really bad. So let us take a few seconds to discuss that. The Infinix S4 comes with a 4,000 mAh Li-Po battery. This battery can not be removed, and the smart phone has support for rapid-charge.
