The year 2019 has seen the release of one of the highest number of smart phones, with the Infinix Hot 8 Lite being among them. This smart device is a smaller version of the standard Infinix Hot 8, and it seems to have been designed for people who can not afford the cost of the standard version. The phone is far from being a terrible smartphone, even though it can not be compared to the more expensive ones. The Infinix Hot 8 Lite comes with a 6.60-inch display, and it runs the Android 8.1 Oreo operating system.
Design and Display
The design of the Infinix Hot 8 Lite is a thing a lot of people appreciate about the product. The smartphone sells at a pretty affordable price, but it still features a very nice camera. The device measures 6.50 x 3.00 x 0.34 inches, and this dimension is the equivalent of 165 x 76.3 x 8.7 mm. Colours in which this phone is available in, include: quetzal cyan, cosmic purple, shark grey, and midnight black. In other words, everyone, regardless of their personality, should be able to find an appealing colour.
When it comes to the aspect of display, the Infinix Hot 8 Lite is a product we are going to award a 5-star rating, a thing it truly deserves. One of the reason for this, is the size of the display, a 6.60-inch in-plane switching (IPS) liquid crystal display (LCD). Not only is the size of this display pretty large, it also comes with a high pixel density. We find the pixel density of the Infinix Hot 8 Lite to be about 266 pixel per inch. In other words, the phone comes with a resolution of 720 x 1,600 pixels.
Computing Power
The computing power of the Infinix Hot 8 Lite is not so impressive. But when you consider its price, there is little we can complain about. The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek MT6580 chipset, with the MediaTek MT6580 chipset being a quad-core chipset, whose cores can be clocked at about 1.30 GHz. Game lovers may not enjoy playing games on this product, but as we have stated, the price makes it difficult for us to do complain. The MediaTek MT6580 chipset however, does not disappoint when it comes to the aspect of power consumption, so the chipset is not a total disappointment.
When it comes to the aspect of main memory, we do not consider the Infinix Hot 8 Lite to be lagging behind. The device features a main memory (RAM) of 2 GB, the amount of RAM expected from a product of its kind. With a RAM of 2 GB, the kind of users this device was designed for, should have no problem using it. If you are just the type who would like a phone the could use to do basic things, then the Infinix Hot 8 Lite promises not to disappoint you. And as long as you do not have a lot of heavy apps running in the background, you should have no problem playing a good number of games on this smartphone.
OS and Storage
The operating system (OS) the Infinix Hot 8 Lite runs, is the Android 8.1 Oreo operating system. It is however important to note that the smartphone does not run the stock build of the software. Rather, the OS it runs is a custom Android 8.1 Oreo operating system. It is also worthwhile stating that the OS of the Infinix Hot 8 Lite is the Go edition of the Android 8.1, not the standard edition.
The storage featured by the Infinix Hot 8 Lite, is a 32 GB storage. Products in its category are generally known to come with 16 GB of storage space, so we give the device a 5-star rating, in the aspect of storage capacity. However, just like almost any other Android device, not all of these storage space would be available for use — remember the OS and some pre-installed apps would need some space, to be storage. But for people who would need additional space, that can be achieved with the help of a micro SD card not having more than 128 GB of space.
Cameras
We have two camera featured by the Infinix Hot 8 Lite, one of the front and one on the rear side. The one in the front is an 8 MP camera which is an also enhanced camera. The quality of pictures taken by this product are far from being disappointing. The rear camera of this smartphone comes with another 8 MP camera. It is just as enhanced as the one in the front, and pictures taken by it would not be disappointing. Both the front and rear cameras of the Infinix Hot 8 Lite come with the support of bright LED flashes.
Other
Infinix smartphones are generally targeted at people in African countries and India, places where dual SIM smart devices are highly appreciated. In other words, the Infinix Hot 8 Lite is a dual SIM phone, just like most products from the company. It is however important to note that the SIM cards used by it, are nano SIM cards, and never micro SIM cards. Also, we would like to state that the SIM cards in the phone can operate on 4G networks.
The Infinix Hot 8 Lite has good support for connectivity technologies, with support for the Bluetooth 5.0 being one of them. As mobile networks may not always be ideal for internet connections, the device also comes with support for the Wi-Fi technology. In addition, it can also be used as a mobile hotspot. Furthermore, this smartphone comes with support for the micro USB 2.0 technology.
When buying a smartphone, battery capacity is one of those things most people look at, and we are pretty glad to announce that the device has a pretty powerful battery. The battery of the Infinix Hot 8 Lite is a 5,000 mAh battery. In other words, the least of all problem you would have, is having to recharge the device every now and then.
