List of Undergraduate Scholarships in Nigeria

We have compiled a list of undergraduate scholarship programs for Nigerian students who have recently gained admission to the university and need financial assistance to undertake their Bachelor’s degree program.

1. Agbami Scholarship

Qualified Nigerian students from all the states of the Federation are invited to apply for a number of university scholarship awards provided by Star Deep Water Petroleum Limited, a Chevron company, and operator of the Agbami Field. The Agbami Scholarship is available for those entering or continuing their studies at a Nigerian university.

2. Agip Scholarship

The Agip Oil Company of Nigeria Limited is sponsoring a scholarship program for freshmen in Nigerian universities. The National Merit Scholarship Program restricts nominations to students pursuing degrees in engineering, geology, or geosciences. Host community merit awardees (from the states of Bayelsa, Delta, Imo, and Rivers) may also be nominated in other academic disciplines.

3. Mobil Nigeria Scholarship

Students enrolled in accredited universities in Nigeria are eligible to apply for the Mobil Nigeria National Undergraduate Scholarship Awards. All eligible students in the Federal States and the Federal Capital Territory are invited to apply for the award (FCT).

4. Shell Scholarship

Scholarships are available to incoming freshmen at all Nigerian colleges through the Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (Operator of the NNPC/SHELL /TEPN/AGIP Joint Venture) Scholarship Scheme. The initiative’s target audience consists of young people in Nigeria in the hopes of inspiring them to strive for academic achievement and enhance their skill set.

5. SNEPCo Scholarship

Undergraduates at Nigerian institutions can apply for the Shell Nigeria Exploration Production Company (SNEPCo) National Merit University Scheme. This merit-based award is available to undergraduates majoring in certain scientific and engineering disciplines who are enrolled full-time.

6. MTN Foundation Scholarship

Scholarships in the areas of science and technology are available to undergraduates at universities in Nigeria through the MTN Foundation. If current students have a CGPA of 3.5 or higher (equal to second-class upper or upper credit), the MTN foundation will continue to fund their education.

7. MUSTE Scholarship

There is a scholarship program run by the Youth Empowerment and ICT Foundation called Mankind United To Support Total Education (MUSTE). Mr. Jim Ovia started it and supported it in 1998 so that talented young people in Nigeria would have access to financial support. Undergraduate and graduate students at accredited universities in Nigeria are eligible to apply for these awards.

8. Gani Fawehinmi Scholarship

Scholarships of four million naira total are awarded annually by the Gani Fawehinmi Scholarship Board to 20–40 Nigerian students attending a university in Nigeria. This scholarship is valid at all accredited Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.

9. NWAG Scholarship for Nigerian Women

The Nigerian Women’s Association of Georgia (NWAG) provides annual scholarships of 50,000 Naira to 37 deserving Nigerian female undergraduates (one from each state of origin) so that they may pursue any field of study in a Nigerian university.

10. Bilateral Education Agreement Awards(BEA)

Undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students from Nigeria are eligible for Bilateral Educational Agreement (BEA) Overseas Scholarships from the Federal Government of Nigeria, administered by the Federal Ministry of Education and the Federal Scholarship Board (FSB).

11. Jim Ovia Scholarship

Mr. Jim Ovia has generously funded this award to help deserving young people in Nigeria further their education. Previously. All eligible recipients will receive full funding for their undergraduate or graduate degree program, including tuition and stipends for living expenses, for the whole duration of their program. The scholarship is worth 150,000 Naira per annum.
