The Indian movie industry, Bollywood is one of the world’s biggest producers of movies today.
Bollywood movies whose themes usually revolve around Love, reincarnation, relationships and family ties have grown to be loved by not just Indians, but other foreigners.
Bollywood’s biggest TV channel Zeeworld which is known to broadcast the latest releases from Bollywood has raked In revenue in millions generated from advertisements, this is because the channel has millions of subscribers.
The frenzies associated with Bollywood movies in Nigeria are mostly dominant in the North.
Northerners have an uncanny affinity with Bollywood movies and India in general. Most Kannywood actors would rather aim at venturing into Bollywood than Nollywood.
The reason for this affinity could be because of the similarities in culture, tradition and moral ideology that the two entities share.
One of the core ethics of Kannywood as an industry is decency, morality and sobriety. Movie producers, directors, actors and actresses can get banned or suspended from the industry for depicting nudity and sexually immoral scenes in movies.
The same applies to Bollywood. Most Bollywood movies are designed and crafted using the modalities above. Little wonder Northerners are attracted to Indian Movies.
The Love for Bollywood movies has grown over the years, however, most Bollywood movies are scripted and acted in Hindu, a language that’s alien to Hausa speakers.
A few of the movies that get subtitled are subtitled in English and the majority of Bollywood fans in the North do not understand the English language. This made translating these movies Into the Hausa language a necessity to meet the needs of Bollywood’s teeming fans in the North.
Below is a list of Indian movies in Hausa, you can find and watch most of them on YouTube.
