Skype mobile app now has group video calling enabled

Skype has finally rolled out its group video call feature on its mobile app. It is only available for the iOS and Android mobile apps for now.

Skype is one of the best and most popular ways to communicate with family and friends in every part of the world and is completely free. All you need is a good internet connection and you’re good to go. The mobile apps are great too but this new group video calling addition makes them superb.

Skype is owned by Microsoft Inc. and the parent company has announced that the group video calling feature on the app will be offered to users in North America and Western Europe only for now but it will be available worldwide by end of March this year. Previously the group video calling feature was only available to paid users but it will now be offered to all users of the service.

Skype group video calling feature offers HD quality video and crystal clear sound using technology from Intel. The Skype app addresses the issue of screen congestion when many people are on the same call by using a grid to split up the different people on that call. It can also be set to automatically make a person take full screen or pin someone to the active window.
