Xiaomi has taken the world by storm with it’s high quality low price smartphones and it shows no sign of slowing down. Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is one of its latest releases sporting a 5.5 inch, 1080×1920 pixels IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. It is Dual SIM enabled and uses the lastest MIUI(User Interface) v7.0.
It runs Android OS Lollipop v5.0 on a Mediatek MT6795 Helio X10 chipset and an Octa-core 2.0 or 2.2 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU and uses a PowerVR G6200 graphics card. It has 2 GB RAM, comes in 16 GB or 32 GB internal memory variants for the 2 GHz and 2.2 GHz models respectively. However, only the Chinese model of the phone has a microSD slot with 32 GB capacity.
The rear camera on the Xiaomi Note 2 is an impressive 13 MP, 4128 x 3096 pixels with phase detection, autofocus, LED flash and 1080p video recording quality while its front camera is 5 MP with 720p quality.
Its communication system is the same with most phones in its range with 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS and BDS, Infrared, FM Radio and a microUSB v2.0 port with USB On-The-Go feature.
Its battery is a decent 3600 mAh Lithium Polymer type with up to 144 hours 3G standby time. It is available in white, blue, yellow, pink and mint green colours and hopefully with the advent of Xiaomi into Nigeria, we will be seeing it soon in our markets. It’s price internationally is about $150 so its price in Nigeria will be approximately 30,000 to 35,000 Naira.
