Samsung’s Galaxy J5 smartphone is among the latest and most popular Samsung smartphones in the market. It is the mid-range priced smartphone among… the three smartphones in the recently released Samsung Galaxy J line which consists of the Samsung Galaxy J2 which is the low priced model, Samsung Galaxy J7 which is the high priced model and the Galaxy J5 itself. Released in June 2015, it sports a 5.0 inch, 720×1280 pixels Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, weighs 146 grams and is 7.9mm thick.
It runs Android OS Lollipop v5.1 on a Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 chipset with a Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53 processor and has 1.5 GB of RAM. It uses Adreno 306 and Mali T720MP2 graphic processors.
Its internal memory comes in two options; either 8 GB or 16 GB, there is also a 128GB capacity microSD card slot for expansion. For network connectivity and communications, it has GSM, HSPA and LTE services enabled, it also has Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth v4.1, GP with A-GPS and GLONASS/ Beidou and FM radio with recording enabled. It uses a microUSB v2.0 slot for charging and data transfer.
It has a 13MP, 4128 x 3096 pixels main camera with a very high video quality (1080p), autofocus and LED flash. Its secondary camera is 5 MP.
It is fitted with a Li-Ion 2600mAh battery which has up to 18 hours talk time on 3G and up to 62 hours music play time. There is also an optional Dual Micro-SIM variant of the phone. It is available in White, Black and Gold colours and the price of the Samsung Galaxy J5 in Nigeria is in the range of 45,000 Naira to 50,000 Naira.
