Samsung Galaxy S6 Features, Specs and Price


Samsung has finally unveiled its new flagship phone, Samsung Galaxy S6. It has a 5.1 inch,1440 x 2560 pixels Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen using TouchWiz UI and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. As with the Galaxy S5, it has a Paypal certified Fingerprint sensor and is IP67 certified dust and water resistant up to 1 meter and 30 minutes. It is also expected to come with ‘Samsung Pay’ (Visa, MasterCard, AMEX certified) similar to ‘Apple Pay’ which lets you pay for things via your phone.

It comes with increased RAM – 3GB, its internal memory is 32 GB/ 64 GB/ 128 GB however there is no microSD slot. For connectivity, it uses Nano SIM, has 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and an Infrared port. Its rear camera is 16 MP, 3456 x 4608 pixels with phase detection, autofocus and LED flash, it also has Dual Shot, Simultaneous HD video and image recording, geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection and HDR, its front camera is 5 MP with 1080p quality and dual video call.
The phone runs on Android Lollipop OS v5.0 on an Exynos 7420 chipset and a Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 or Quad-core 2.1 GHz Cortex-A57 processor. It will be available in White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum and Blue Topaz colours. As usual it has accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, barometer, gesture and heart rate sensors. It supports Wireless charging, has S-Voice, Smart stay, Smart pause, Smart scroll and Air Gestures. It uses a Non-removable Li-Ion 2550 mAh battery and is estimated to cost about 140,000 Naira ($699) for the 32 GB model, $949 (190,000) for the 64 GB model and $1,049 (210,000 Naira) for the 128 GB model .
