Gionee is a pretty much unknown name in the mobile phone industry but the Chinese company has taken a huge step in making a phone which competes favourably with the topmost phones in the world, it’s called Gionee Elife E7.
The Gionee Elife E7 is a 5.5-inch 1080p Android phone which is the first phone to have the amazing 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip (MSM8974AC). It also has a very sensitive 16MP camera due to its Largan M8 lens. Gionee believes that its 16MP camera is even better than the camera on the yet to be announced Samsung Galaxy S5. It also boasts of an 8MP front camera with the same sensor as the iPhone 5S.
The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and the phone also has a three microphone system for better voice quality. The phone has a special feature called “Sensor Hub” which reacts to voice commands, screen taps and gestures when the phone is in standby mode. The phone comes in two memory options which are 16GB internal memory/2GB RAM model or 32GB internal memory/3GB RAM model, unfortunately there’s no memory card slot for expansion.
The phone runs on Android Jellybean v4.2 OS, it also has NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and all the common stuff, the battery power is 2,500mAh. The phone will be available in Nigeria from early next year and its official prices are $440(70,000Naira) for the 2.2GHz 16GB storage/2GB RAM model and $530(85,000 Naira) for the 2.2GHz 32GB storage/3GB RAM model, the 2.5GHz LTE model with 32GB storage/3GB RAM starts at $570(91,000 Naira).
*Note however that prices in Nigeria may vary due to other costs incurred by sellers.
